Re: About to mount the limit switches...

You would have to setup soft limits in Mach3. This will prevent the bit from penetrating into the table surface.

Though you will have to change it each time the bit is changed if you want to use it.

We typically only use soft limits on the X and Y axis.

Re: Controller Kit 12V reading 10.84V

Are you using a 12V power supply?

You must use a power supply greater than 12 volts for the rail to regulate properly to 12V.

Yes. We will have something planned that can utilize the Building Blocks components and is also mostly aluminum in construction.

I would really like to make this into a complete machine :)
Absolutely. In November we start production on MDF kits.

It sounds like you're working on something very custom and unrelated to CNC. There is going to be some overlap though with how the CNC electronics work however. First of all. It is possible that the USB -> DB25 adapter you have is not an actual DB25 replacement, but rather a printer adapter. If it i...

What you are experiencing is known as the holding torque. When power is applied the motors lock up to prevent any rotating. This is normal. You may also notice that if you leave the motors sit in the locked up state for a long time they will get very hot. You can reduce this temperature (and the loc...

That's exactly why we designed it! We had really bad luck with the China boards as well.

Given the nature of a CNC lathe, you only normally do work on the radius. Any changes to the radius will affect the diameter. Diameter is related to radius with the simple equation: Diamter = 2 * Radius. Could you multiply or divide your code by 2? In Mach3, you could also change the scale by 50% or...

That's a great deal for someone.

I'm sorry you didn't have time to work on it.
