That looks awesome! What will you be building the frame out of? Extrusions?

It is good to know there is a 220V version of the Colt out there though.

I would love to be able to carry that version in our web store, but as you found out it is quite expensive.

We do not recommend going over 24" x 24" (30" shafts) without some kind of additional support like you are doing. Deflection will be worst on the X axis (gantry axis) as that is where the weight will be the greatest.

I typically refrain from making belt designs. I worry about being able to transfer the forces required for cutting serious materials.

The controller box has screw terminals that limit switches can be hooked up to. You can set software limits inside Mach3 (or other CNC software) that will not allow the machine to go beyond the limits of the machine. Adding limit switches is a good backup. We are working on setting up our new CNC panel router.

Please keep in mind though, that not all CNC Building Blocks are finished.

We still have outstanding orders, and we won't be working on any other projects until they are shipped.
