I have now removed the bottom sliders and replaced them with OpenRail sliders, just a few more holes and screws to get it attached, so I think I have it ready tomorrow. The support for the OpenRail sliders are 4 cm. high stainless steel tubes, so you can stand on them and they wont move at all. So, ...

Thanks, you're always so fast replying :-D I'm a bit uncertain what route to go, eliminating the bottom bars was in my option a, but I was just worried about the length of the bar and wanted to add extra support for the weight. Open Rail will probably work pretty nice. However, that's more work than...

Ok, so I may have been a little bit silent lately, but I kind of stumbled into a design flaw that meant I had to do quite a lot of redesign which wasn't very motivating (and Diablo III was quite much fun too), however now I have signed up for Trondheim Maker faire end of next week, so I will try to ...

Allright, I got the money back and went off and bought another router. The only one I could find that was 230V, had 8 mm tool holder and seemed to fit the CNC machine was the D26204 from DeWALT. Unfortunately it was very expensive but it is also targeted for the professional market, so I guess it mi...

Thanks, according to http://www.newark.com/pdfs/techarticles/microchip/3_3vto5vAnalogTipsnTricksBrchr.pdf (Tip #5) it seems that a direct connect is ok as long as the CNC Controller uses TTL and not CMOS logic. (I'll check which one you have once your wiki page start working again, apparently it is ...

Oh, I was reading the wrong wiki page, just saw an image of the DB-25 connector and didn't know it was used differently in the different standards. Thanks, that makes it a lot more easier, I guess I don't need a shield and can connect the pins directly. After all it's the Arduino which is dri...

Awesome, you rock :-D I fully understand the risks involved, if anything brakes I'll just patch up the broken parts and try again. Money isn't lost if they are invested in fun! ;-) I was quite surprised to see the Aruino D2-D7 being connected directly to the RS-232 (DB-25) ports 3,5,7,9,11 and 13. T...

Sounds too long :-( Can I please be a beta tester and hopefully speed up the process for me and you? :-) If you provide me with a payment option and send me: a) the schematics + part list or b) the unsoldered board, the schematics and the part list or c) the unsoldered board, the schematics and the ...
