Steve,

Thanks for letting us know.

I believe the bug was fixed a few days ago, everything seems to work now.

What are your DIP switches set to? They can cause a driver chip to be set to sleep mode. Similarly the reference voltage when set super high can cause sleep mode, though this isn't the case here. Measuring the sense resistance should be a good way to go, but continuity isn't always the best since th...

1. For limit switches, you should have each axis go to its own input. That way the software knows which axis is hitting the limit, and it will work better with the software. 2. Home switches are essentially the same as limit switches. For those I believe you would want to wire the switches to one si...

Hi Sam, sorry for the slow reply. To answer your questions, yes it will be possible to branch off the signal from the LPT port to control what is known as your Slave axis motor. You could also setup Mach3 to just clone the axis as A or B for that Y axis and then you wouldn't have to worry about brea...

I had replied to your email, but I'll post this here in case anyone else is having trouble spotting them. I have marked the testpoints with arrows in this diagram: http://i.imgur.com/sqHmgIq.jpg TP1 for X Axis, TP2 for Y Axis TP3 for Z Axis 5V for testing 5V rail. Test with a multimeter between the ...

We ran into manufacturing problems with the injection molded parts.

The aluminum version (much better than plastic, but more expensive) replaced the plastic building blocks.

 by AJ Quick ¦  Sat Feb 28, 2015 1:16 pm ¦  Forum: Electronics ¦  Topic: Z-Axis limit switch problem ¦  Replies: 2 ¦  Views: 16086

Is it a normally open switch or normally closed switch? Is the Z-axis limit switch the only one that has this problem, or do any other axes have a problem as well? Is the Z-axis limit input correctly mapped to the right port number in Mach3 to match the connection? Might need to contact Warp9Td if t...

5 wire motors are just 6/8 wire motors with the common wire tied together.

As for the connection. I'd recommend getting another driver board and configure it to go in the opposite direction in your CNC software.

I don't think hallowing out the MDF would be a viable solution to lighten it up. MDF needs to be solid in order to maintain the weights put upon it. That's why we would recommend a custom aluminum table since it can be thinner and lighter, while still being strong.
